The life and inspiration of Beyonce
Homecoming: a film by Beyonce, music production significantly impacts cultural performance. It
illustrates the music structure and evolution of our community. "Why are music and singing such a
powerful social glue? Most people hear music right after they're born, usually via lullabies, as well as
most of the momentous occasions in our lives." (Rosas) Beyonce is a woman that influences, inspires,
and motivates others, especially the woman in our community. She shows exceptional leadership with
confidence, which displays admiration for others. Released on April 17, 2019, the film was written and
directed by Beyonce. The film is a two-hour documentary that reexplored Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella
show and takes viewers behind the scenes as she endeavors to deliver a show-stopping performance
celebrating black culture and the HBCU experience. (Beyonce, Homecoming)
How does Beyonce influence others? Beyonce implements messages through her music by focusing.
On women's empowerment. In her recent document, she quoted and used audio from some of our
Infamous leaders, known as Malcolm X, Maya Angelou, and Toni Morrison. She talked about
awareness of how they struggled for equality. "Homecoming's" real message was a
celebration of African American culture with education, specifically Historically Black Colleges and
Universities." (Dudzinski) Not only does Beyonce brings awareness and influence others through her
Music, but she also impacts society and advocates for the black community of America. The platform
Beyonce built her numberless wins and appearances is used deservedly as a way for her to spread
her messages of equality and strength. "If You Surrender To The Air, You Can Ride It" — Toni
Morrison (2:17:46) "Oh, have you looked in the mirror lately? (Lately) I wish you could trade eyes with
I love everything about you, from your nappy curls to every single curve, your body's natural
Same skin that was broken Be the same skin taking over Most things out of focus view but when you're
in the room, they notice you (Notice you) 'Cause you're beautiful Yeah, you're beautiful". (Beyonce,
Brown skin girls) In this song, Beyonce encourages others to feel comfortable and embrace the skin
that they're in and the way that they were made. I can remember when I didn't have much confidence in
myself but listening to the songs helped me build my confidence and understand that black is beautiful
and that you should love how you were made. I think the lyrics from this song can help many girls just
as much it helped me understand life's beauty. "Mama said, "You're a pretty girl. What's in your head, it
doesn't matter. Brush your hair, fix your teeth. What you wear is all that matters. Just another stage,
Pageant the pain away. This time, I'm going to take the crown. Without falling down, down, down
Pretty hurts We shine the light on whatever's worse Perfection is a disease of a nation blonder hair, flat
chest TV says, bigger is the better South beach, sugar-free Vogue says Thinner is better." (Beyonce,
Pretty Hurts) "To Me, We Are the Most Beautiful Creatures in The Whole World, Black People."—
Nina Simone (2:01:14-2:01:08) From the lyrics to the films, to the way that Beyonce carries herself to
influence and inspire us to be the best version of ourselves, leading to motivation.
Motivation is the process that initiates, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. "Education
must not simply teach work-it must teach life." — W.E.B. DuBois (1:46:59)
Beyonce motivates people through her music because she is passionate about her beliefs and culture. In
In the
film Homecoming, fans see how Beyonce motivates her team to work hard just as much as she
does. She also encourages her audience through her experience and hard work in the show. "Freedom!
Freedom! I can't move, Freedom; cut me loose! Yeah, Freedom! Freedom! Where are you? Because I
need space, too! I break chains all by myself. Won't let my Freedom rot in hell. Hey! I'd keep running
cause a winner don't quit on themselves I'm wade, I'm wadin through the waters tell the tide, "Don't
move" I'm a riot, I'm a riot through your borders call me bulletproof Lord, forgive me, I've been
running running' blind in truth I'm wadin, I'm a wave through your shallow love tell the deep I'm new."
(Genius) Beyonce's songs are so inspiring and (Rosas)motivating that many of her old songs are still
remembered.
In conclusion, Beyonce's legacy carries through her exceptional talent that contributes to positive
influence, inspiration, and motivation. She strives to be a creator of positive energy and cultural
influences through her talented music. In my own experiences, I've learned a lot about myself through
her music. A few of my friends and family have expressed mutual feelings about the comfort and
positivity they've gained from listening to a few of Beyonce's songs. Not only is her art in music
memorable, but they also make you proud of who you are and give you an abundance of confidence
and motivation. It's somewhat factual that we all may have learned something from Beyonce and her
music. She does make music that some of us may not agree with, but those are the songs that we don't
have to engage or listen to because although she may be a creator, a leader, a cheerful woman, etc., she
is still an entertainer. Another thing that I learned from this legend is that we must find the positive in
all things. Those words, to me, are words of influence, inspiration, and motivation.
